Have anyone ever had pizza at this place. Libretto's is nearby Black Finn, and Whiskey River. The pizza is AWESOME! This place is the real effin' deal, with the taste straight outta NY! I had two (good sized too) slices of the New Yorker w/pepperoni, roasted peppers, mushrooms, and onions. I substituted the Italian sausage (don't like) w/beef and it was goin' off! It instantly gave me memories of NYC. Libretto's might be the most slept on pizza place in Jax. Hell, they even have three other locations, one in Manhattan, and two in Charlotte. Great NY style pizza. :)

Actually ended up there tonight with the wife.

Pizza was FANTASTIC.

The pizza's better than the service, but what can you do.

Going to definitely put it in my regular pizza rotation along with Renna's, Vinny's (another slept on pizza place in the area), and Al's.

I'm glad that yall enjoyed. Oh yeah, Libretto's has definitely been inserted in my pizza rotation. I still haven't tried Vinny's yet, I'll be sure to check them out.

Just to make a late-night, bourbon-fueled comment regarding eateries and thier staff......

I know that the 'eating out' (he he) experience is surmised as an all encompassing event, but you can't live and die by a one time experience.  All restaurants that are trying are doing the best they can to give you that Onceinalifetime Dining Experience on every visit.  They all want to give each and every one of us the best food experience, served up from a knowledgeable and detail oriented waitstaff.  This is part of thier business plan.  No up and coming restauranteer (...ear, IDK, sic) plans on serving shitty food and having tragically poor, unreliable service.  You can't always have your entree prepared by the Chef and your food served by the owner, it just doesn't work that way.   The one's of us that get it, just get it, but there will be several people reading that don't understand that everything that happens on a friday night isn't even close to what they saw on Food Network on a Wednesday night in the comfort of their home, with a dream dinner showing on the tele.  There are real people taking orders, preparing food, preparing cocktails, etc. and they don't get the benefit of a re-take because the lighting wasn't just right or their protein cook undercooked the steak and put it in the window anyhow because he has 12 other steaks on the grill behind yours.

[stepping off of soapbox]

I guess this rant came from a reading of Yelp comments at several of the restaurants that just opened up in the hood.  Cut them some slack.  People from out of town and even the people from in-town use sites like Yelp to make their own decisions before experiencing the place for themselves.

I have to stop typing now because the screen keeps jumping up and down everytime I hit a letter and I don't want to keep backtracking for spelling and grammatical errors.

Actually, this rant has nothing to do with the comments of Librettos on this site, per se, but I did a quick tour of Yelp and was absolutely pissed off at the:  a.) Quantity of, b.) Venomous attacks and c.) Lack of inner concept over how a real restaurant actually operates.

I would personally love to call up a few of the posters and pay good money to go and have a dinner at their house.  Or if they're not up to the challenge, then I would pay for them to take me to Red Lobster/Long Horn/Olive Garden (Have I left out any of Darden's Restaurants?) as they gloss over the impeccible service staff and the subtle nuances of flavors incorporated into each meal.

A couple of my favs:   [sorry for the pause, I have to refill]

"My waiter/waitress was snobby!" - Because they suggest a wine that you haven't heard of?  Sorry, you're not going to find Arbor Mist on the menu.

"The food was overpriced!" - They charged me $18 for a risotto?  That's just some rice and shit, right?
