Elements of Urbanism: Milwaukee

All of that outdoor restaurant seating seems VERY feasible in a place like Milwaukee, esp. when most of the year it's like -10 degrees with unforgiving wind whipping off of the lake. Those Milwaukee folk do seem like a pretty tough bunch though. That city does have real architechure; no cookie cutter Miami-style prefab crap there.

Milwaukee also supports two pro teams.  The Brewers in baseball and Bucks in the NBA.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Tufsu, Jacksonville is a shadow of Milwaukee, their downtown can support a convention hall. Lurs for the most part can not.

As a side note those pics look reeeeeeally cold!

I'm surprised Memphis hasn't been covered yet in the "Learning From" series.

My last trip to Memphis was in 2005, a year before we started MJ. Although I did take a lot of pics, the photo quality was poor.  I planned to visit Memphis last Summer but ended up heading to Kansas City instead.  Anyway, one of these days we'll get to it.
