I wonder if Mr Brown could get a speaking invite to introduce himself to the members of FBC?

Wow - what an event!  Good to see some of the MJ crew out there.  PJS, you were right one about thing.  It would have been a bad night to drop in to BG for a burrito unaware.

And I was right about one thing.  Donations were encouraged, but not required.

It was a good event and there's lots of energy from young professionals for Alvin Brown.

I second that. It was very inspiring seeing so many young folks come together to choose a better future.

On my way to the event Trout's billboard on I-95 read:

Quote'If we always do what we've always done, we will get what we've always got

This was soooooooo applicable here!!!

Just like my two oldest daughters, Alvin Brown started his work experience at a local Winn-Dixie store. And, at age 48 he is young enough to relate to our next generation!! As an economist I just LOVE that he has an MBA from JU!!!

We need to make Jax a destination, not just a drive-through!

I was soooo happy to leave my $25 donation for the sake of my daughters' futures.

And remember I don't even live in Duval, but my daughters work and go to college in Duval!!!!

GG. FBC does not offer speaking invites to any candidate. Every candidate is always welcome to attend any service and be recognized. Many did before the first election.

Thanks Matt!

BTW, can we stop our focus on Baptists for electing city leaders?

Only 18% of Jax population is baptist, 24% of Jax population is of other Christian religion, and a whopping 58% IS NON-RELIGIOUS!

For those who are interested: only .3% is Islamic.

um..sorry but the numbers are misleading and incorrect...the data seems to only be showing those affiliated...for example, Jews make up about 2% of Jax. population, but only show as 0.68% on the web list you provided....the rest are not affilated with synagogues, but are not necessarily non-religious!
