While looking for a good place to have lunch this afternoon, I came a wonderful restaurant downtown.

Many downtowners may have overlooked the quiet eatery at 119 W Adams St (a couple of store fronts west of Chew).  It used to be the old Pizza Italiano.  I stumbled into it today based on the sidewalk sign on the street.   The restaurant basically looks old (and it is), but it is clean and friendly.

The folks running it were extremely nice and the food was amazing.  It can best be described as Southern food also featuring the usual assortment of burgers and sandwiches.

I had the meatloaf and I must say it was the best meatloaf I have ever had.   The portion was large, came with two sides and cornbread and was under $9.  I was told that they also have amazing smothered pork chops (which I definitely plan to have next week).

..so if you are downtown, I encourage you to stop by this often overlooked establishment (which apparently has been open almost a year).

Food great, friendly proprietors, good prices.
