I have been perusing some old Sanborn maps and some new aerial photos of Jacksonville and over in Springfield, off Walnut St and 11th St, where the F&J Junction Yard is, Sanborn maps from the early 30's shows a Springfield Passenger station and SAL Offices building right across the tracks from an old wooden warehouse. Its inside the wye track formed betwen NS and CSX and the yard. Right now the aerial photos show just woods where the station use to be. Wondering if anyone has any old photos of that building..and how did people get to the station since its completely surrounded by rails.
