Office workers downtown and beyond soon will have a new lunchtime option when Monroe's On-The-Go food truck hits the streets.
Owner Keith Waller said he plans to launch his new venture as soon as his credit card processing system is installed and operational, perhaps by week's end.
Diners can expect most of what Waller serves at his west Jacksonville restaurant, Monroe's Smokehouse Bar-B-Q, including Monroe's famous smoked wings, pulled pork platters, two-meat combos, sandwiches, salads and more.

BBQ IN MY DOWNTOWN?! Get me that smoked wings and a cup of sweet tea! I want to lick my fingers off while looking up at the Jacksonville Skyline.

Love me some Monroes....Monroes beats Jenkins everytime.  I have seen Jenkins preaking up pallet wood in the parking lot... nuff said.

I'll have to try Monroes out.  Never had it - yet.

Great stuff and a welcome addition to downtown :) I love their bbq and the sauces are amazing.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

I've never tried them out but was just thinking about how it would be nice to find some BBQ within walking distance of the office.  This truck will be about three blocks away.  I'm looking forward to trying them out.

Just wanted to say that Monroes has made the transition from truck to brick and mortar quite well.

The stand alone place they opened on Beach Boulevard and Anniston across from the Pottsburg post office has been getting busier and busier every month.

The BBQ is quite good. I like their mashed potatoes and gravy and their cornbread.  The brisket is right behind 4Rivers in my book.

Everything tastes like home cooking that is probably why I enjoy it ao much.

If you liked the truck, you will love the sit down.
