Greetings all. I am a members of the ACL/SAL Railroads Historical Society. A friend sent me a link to your website with the story you did in 2010 about the old Jax terminal. It has some absolutely fantastic pictures. Our editor would like to do an article for our quarterly magazine using those pictures and I was wondering where did you find them? Are they available for purchase or available to be scanned? We would need large scans to be able to get the magazine quality pictures needed. Can anyone guide me to the correct location.

Thanks
John

Welcome!  Stick around because you'll be finding many more compelling historical articles posted here.

Send a personal message to Ocklawaha.  I'm sure he was a major force in the article's creation.

The source of the historic images are from the State of Florida's photographic archive collection:

Actually Lake if we're talking about the Jan 8, 2010 article, unless you sent OUR photos to the State Archives, only about a third of those photos are in the archives. You guys are right that most of the State photos came originally from my collection through a rather interesting chain of possession and I own the copyrights, but don't mind them being used in a history article. I have no problem with them using any of those photos that I took.

Ocklawaha that would be great! We will of course give you proper credit for any photos of yours that are used. But how do we get the originals? Or good large scans of the originals from you?

Thanks

Cool, we still need thelakelander to weigh in on permission to reprint his photos too... then we can probably do copies via Metrojacksonville of ours. The State per-above response from Lake, has a high-res system online. Do you want any photos of the old concourses that I photographed underground?

They'll need to determine what photographs they desire.  If they come from the state, you can get the originals scanned and sent to you at 300 dpi for $10/image.
