It was a fantastic opportunity to share this piece of Jacksonville's Maritime history with JaxNative68 and Field. Great pictures MJ team.

The $395,000 floating dock was done with TIF funding from the Northbank.

Now as everyone is saying can you imagine how little it would cost and the benefit for a council district for a pocket pier or floating dock at a Waterfront Public Access street end.

Mayor Peyton and other elected officials said that there is no more money. That is where FIND comes in. I can't wait to share this with the Commissioners of the Florida Inland Navigation District.

So Who's next. Who wants to paddle from Hogans Creek to the floating dock at RAM?

Elected officials and those running in the Spring elections go to the front of the line.

Its official.

Our St. Johns River our American Heritage River is Open for Business.

I love the new boat dock!  Great idea!  Public boat parking downtown is greatly needed.

RAM was awesome this weekend!  Congrats to all involved.  I hope we can keep that kind of energy up all year long!

Go JAX!

Hey you know this really shows how fast the city can do something when the right people are pushing it!

Noone-  Thanks for the guided tour of Hogans Creek.  As long as it works out with the family schedule, I'm alway in for a paddle.  Would love to embark on a journey under the Hyatt, Times-Union or to the RAM dock one day.

Questions: Is this only open during RAM hours? And also, are they planning any type of ferry for public use to get people to/from Riverside to San Marco??

I like the Riverwalk, but one area it fails is connecting the Northbank to the Southbank. You have to get off of it, go up the street & cross over the Main Street Bridge, which sucks & isn't really apparent & part of the design. A ferry would certainly alleviate that.

Right now, there is no weekday access for the dock.

The River Taxi already operates downtown to go back and forth from a variety of destiantions along the riverwalk, including this new dock during RAM.

I was at the little ceremony they had and everyone that spoke made mention of the River being our greatest asset. Hopefully there will be some weight to those words going forward. It is a great focus point for downtown and hopefully can radiate out.

On a sidenote, I didn't know Metrojacksonville was there. I think in the future whenever you have someone out covering an event you should go old school and wear a fedora with the press ticket on the hat the states your organization.

Cool, thanks. Although those prices. OUCH! Charging $3 and $5 for a one way trip to just cross the rover is pretty pricey.

If you had the bike why would you need to ride the taxi?

I hope this dock means that RAM is here to stay. I love it, it's good for the city. Score one more point for JAX as a small success story. 8)
