Shot(s) Fired DT; Woman Arrested

A fight at a downtown Jacksonville bar early Tuesday morning led to a shooting in which no was injured but one woman was arrested, according to Times-Union news partner First Coast News.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office told First Coast News that a fight broke out at Dos Gatos on East Forsyth Street eventually continued into the street where the shooting occurred.

FCN reports that no one was hit by the gunfire and police, who were immediately called, took a woman into custody.

Sad to see this happen at such a great nightspot but this could happen at any bar anywhere.  I'll be out DT tonight feeling perfectly safe.

Wow.  I'd expect this at Real Ting, but not Dos Gatos.  Good thing whoever the degenerate was had terrible aim.  I hope Mr Albertelli and crew are all ok.  Maybe they need to institute a double barrel security policy.

Wow, you have to be part of the news to really understand how badly they report it.
Here's what happened.

We kicked a girl out of the bar because she headbutted a guy for no apparent reason (he was talking to her friend or something, we didn't ask, we just had her escorted out.) The guy was SMALL; she's a bouncer at Gold Club.

Much later, after the bar was closed, she found him in front of 11 East and pulled her gun on him (she has a CCP) which he knocked out of her hand, recovered and he popped a couple off at her, missing.

That's it. 

It's great how they make it sound like a fight spilled onto the street...ala the old west. We were closed up and cleaning when all of this happened.

So there were actually two confrontations, one of which occurred hours later and two blocks from Dos Gatos.  The second confrontation involved the gun. 

Sensationalism at its finest. 

That girl may want to review the CCP rule book.  1st, she can't bring the gun into a bar.  2nd, I don't think you can just brandish your gun at someone because they were talking to your friend.

If you have ever been close to a story that the T-U reports you would not be amazed any more. 

Amazing would be if they got the facts STRAIGHT.

Where downtown or Springfield are concerned it is almost like they deliberately sensationalize the stories.
