JTA actually rides JTA

Well...sort of.  They rode the Bus and Trolley for two hours.  No word on whether or not the bus actually was able to get out of downtown before the two hours was up.

:D ::)  This should tell them that all the busdrivers are friendly and helpful, all the buses run exactly on time, the skyway is a workhorse, and the JTA system is one to be envied. :)
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

the executive director I am told has been doing lots of spot checks all over the system.

That is good to hear.  Any indications as to the findings?

Two hours? Is it to much to ask that these senior leadership folks actually use the transportation like a normal person would? In other words, to get to and from work. I don't care how far they live from JTA HQ. Have them use the bus system to get to and from their workplace like many (well, maybe not that many) local residents.

Riding around for two hours is a good start but that isn't going to give you an accurate picture, because nobody "joyrides" on the bus system. Pick a destination (as Stephen Dare did, to the equestrian center, in an excellent article on this site) and take the bus.

Also: don't tell anybody "hey a team of us executives are going to be on the bus for 2 hours Friday afternoon." Show up dressed in business casual outfits, or even t-shirts and jeans, and don't all pile on the same bus.

If they did that then they would not get the great results they wanted... :)

I have to say, I have seen marked improvements in my bus routes since I put JTA on blast on their Facebook page.  I get LIVID when they do ignorant things (like stop on Merrill Rd. for some Krystals....).  Got the bus driver changed, and now, surprise (!), both morning and evening buses are on-time.
