Young woman shot Saturday night as she walks to downtown club

A 19-year-old North Jacksonville woman was shot in the buttocks late Saturday as she walked with friends to a nightclub at 672 W. Forsyth St.

Officers on patrol at Clay and Adams streets learned of the shooting at 11:15 p.m., when a car full of women screamed at them as they drove past that a woman had been shot at Forsyth and Davis streets, police said. Unable to find any victim at that intersection, and with no one at the Platnum club admitting that they had heard gunshots, the officers called Shands Jacksonville. That's when an off-duty officer said a shooting victim had just walked in...

I'm surprised...usually parties hosted by "Flip Dice" et al almost never attract a crowd that would shoot a woman in the butt.

This is a "sometimes" club....basically it opens occassionally....the rest of the time, the space is used for special events.
