Quote-- Final figures show Florida Gov. Rick Scott spent $85 million, well more than three times the previous record of $24 million set by former Gov. Charlie Crist, in last year’s race for governor. That included $73 million of his family’s money, and dwarved the $17.5 million spent by Democrat Alex Sink.

In a very strong GOP year, with three times the money ever spent, and almost five times the money his opponent spent, he still got less than 49% of the vote.  Wow.

Watch the mayor's race, Peyton won with his own money. It will be interesting to see how much it takes to get elected this time around.
