I have to admit my first reaction to this news was not great because I assumed that the NEFBA is only about building more houses in areas far from the urban core.  But then I asked myself, what is it the NEFBA really wants to do?  The answer is to build houses.

We assume that they only want to build them in places where they have built them in the past - but that is because we made it so easy for them to be built out there.  I believe that carpenters, roofers, concrete finishers would be happy to build them anywhere.  We can and should be reaching out to them to demonstrate the incredible opportunity that the next 'Great Reset' will provide them to build residential structures in the urban core.

I wouldn't count this guy out.  The police unions, the builders and the "Most Conservative Guy" vote sound like a majority to me.

That is my concern.  Actually, all he really needs is to make 2nd place with that Democrat.  Then we wins by default.

The builders (and that whole industry carpenters, painters, carpet layers, concrete guys, etc.) are really hurting.  I think they see something in Hogan that is promising.

He has a immaculate record in public service and has a great vision for Jacksonville.

He also picked up the endorsement of the Northeast Florida Realtors Association.....they see home values going up under Hogan....good news!

Westside connection, really means nothing in terms of the core or southside voters. WW Gay is a huge supporter of Mike's campaign as well. This is a no brainer.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

how is the building market helped by cutting government spending?

Hogan is old-school politics: supports sprawl (NEFLa Builders love that), will trade what's good for the city (pension reform) for the police union vote; and is a pro-Rick Scott kind of guy who would remove regulations on business and support things like the Doctors shall not be allowed to ask if there's a gun in the house, else they go to prison and pay a $5 million fine.  God help us.

Maybe so tayana, I don't know Hogan, but as to that proposed law, it's about the dumbest thing since "gun control," whichever side you are on.

So a guy murders a store clerk in Starke, lives in Jax, and is asked at the kids doctor appointment, "Do you own a gun?" It's like, WTF? SURE he's going to say, "Yes just like that double-action 44 cal. pistol used in that Starke murder!" Get real, they might as well legislate air, it's a rule for rules sake. So if you support such a rule, your a fool for thinking it will make a difference. To not support it and side with the doctors, your still a fool for thinking you are going to stop those 1 in 25 deaths...  You won't. It's a feel good, nice thing to do, and maybe having a pamphlet on storage safety might...remotely...help someone somewhere store their gun differently, I've never met any gun owner (myself included) that didn't feel like he or she already knew enough about storage BEFORE they bought the gun. Sort of like, I bought a new Volkswagen but I don't have a clue where I'm going to park it.

Just outlaw those guns, all of the bad guys in the states are going to box em up and haul em in.... Yeah, when striped assed apes fly out of my nether regions. I can see it now, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, come walking into the sheriff's office and turn in their Thompson Chicago-Typewriter, and their Browning Automatic Rifles, if you really believe that your dreaming.

DUMB.

i'm not sure if people realize but we have a whole hell of a lot of empty homes..new and used on our markets...empty tracks of homes and condos everywhere...are these people lost? building new homes is the last thing this community needs...deal with what we have and then start building again...instead of waisting money builiding homes that'll sit empty how about updating the ones that need it and grow from within...a nice slow growth is what builds a long lasting community....i guess it's the differance between building with pressed wood as opposed to plywood...there is a differance and its shows in times of stress....
