I went to Latitudes last Friday. It was packed. The restaurant was nice and casual... we didn't eat there but I looked over the menu and the pricing seems reasonable with sandwiches and entrees from $7 - $12. The drinks were a pleasant surprise. I had an old fashioned and a mojito - both were tasty and affordable at $6. The bartender took her time muddling cherries for my drink and seemed generally concerned about if I liked it or not.

The cinema looked to me like anything you might find in a big sports bar with a bunch of giant screens on top of screens on top of other screens. I'm not sure if it's solely for sports or if they show movies etc.

The bowling alley was by far the main attraction. The leather couches and coffee tables gave it a real loungy type living room feel. They did a great job on set up at the lanes. All the bowlers looked very comfy and it nice to have your drink with unlike regular bowling alleys.

The arcade, live music and DJ were lack luster imo - The band was a talented 4 piece with an acoustic guitar player / singer front man... but their entire set was bastardized pop cover song medleys that all sounded the same from start to finish. The DJ picked up in between sets blasting popular hip-hop and dance music and uncomfortably loud levels. To me it kind of ruins the lounge vibe.

All in all it seems like a nice new addition to the southside. I'll go again for some bowling, cocktails and appetizers with friends for sure.

Thanks for the review. I am going saturday a night and have a BLAST. I stay right around the corner on Baymeadows rd so this is real convient. LOL

the space you are referring to is the area next to the restaurant that has tables in a stadium box level configuration.

the actual cinema is in a separate area....to the back right of the complex

I also went, but found it a place searching for an identity. It was more like a Chuck-E-Cheese for psudo-adults then anything else, though it did have a great mix of 1950's bowling alley, with a 1980's arcade tossed in for good measure. Can't judge the food or drink really, because in that respect a nice Ruby Tuesdays or Longhorn's can supply the same with a beefier menu.

Really don't know what I was expecting, something more along the lines of a Playboy club sans bunny's or a cool lounge with many diversions. What I saw was more like Wal-Mart with neon then a micro-Magic Kingdom for grown ups and their kids.

I was told by someone at the bar that the area next to the restaurant was the cinema. What your saying makes much more sense though... and I just confirmed it on their website. I guess that part isn't open yet.

Our family chose to celebrate March birthdays by going to Latitude 30. Out of a party of 12 no one was satisfied with their meal. The place is very pricey and I think we would have enjoyed Mcdonalds better than this place. The food was very bland, no seasoning and was not hot when we received it. Great ambiance but overall ALL 12 of us give this place 24 thumbs down  :-[. Save your time and money and go to Saint Johns Town Center, The Landing and even the Beach and choose a better place to dine.

My wife and I saw a comedy show at Latitude 30. We ordered some food in the comedy room and it was very good. I really like this place. At first glance, it reminds you of Dave and Busters, but there are a ton of differences. D&B has more games by far, but Latitude has a different feel and more to do, such as the Bowling, bar/club, restauarant and Sports lounge. I do like the concept. Once the movie theatre opens, it should be very nice. Parking is a huge issue though. The neighboring businesses will report you if you use their lot because Latitude 30 is full. Be careful.

I went a few weeks ago. We sat a a bar top table near the bowling lanes. Josh Scoobe was there and bowling right behind us. At one point he had a 7-10 split and rolled it right down the middle. I suppose it's impossible for him to do anything other than split the uprights  :D

Welcome to the board? Seems odd someone would register for this board and their first (and so far only) post is in a thread dormant for two months.

I have a friend who is a server at Dave & Busters, his name is Dave... If you want to make his day, after he introduces himself, ask him "Where is Buster?"

Drives him batty.

They told me they are leasing parking spaces from Wal Mart and The Avenues. I assume if you use valet parking, they may take your car there.

I thought it was OK.  I'm not into noisy places full of sensory overload like that much, but if you like them, this is a good one.

Gotta love competition. There was a story a few years ago about the CEO of Whole Foods posting negative things about competitors on Yahoo Finance message boards.

I know one of the managers at D&B, with as busy as he is I have no reason to believe he would even have time to come here and post something like that! Believe me, they aren't exactly hurtin' for business.
