Ok, I can never understand oklawaha's beat around the bush posts.  Can someone fill me in?

What: They want to destroy the union station tunnels??

FDOT and JTA seem determined to build the Amtrak station at the Union Terminal/Prime Osborn their way.  This means reinventing the wheel to build platform access when we already have existing infrastructure that would do the same job.  It appears that the Good Old Boys are at it again!  Why use existing tunnels when we have a sweet contract to build new platform access for more money!  LOL

WHAT THIS MEANS:

It mean's FDOT NOT JTA is dead set on crippling our station efforts by forcing us to destroy the PEDESTRIAN SUBWAY (erroneously identified in the communication = "Mr Mann is passionate about the old baggage tunnels") and build the abortion designed by one of our local star transit planners.

Maybe I should write in Spanish? Is this really this hard to understand?

What has JTA done to ensure that we protect the tunnels?  I wish that this debate was more visible in the local media.  Perhaps one of the 'local' stations would cover it.  Nevermind, I forgot that the 'local' stations have to cover more pressing matters - like the latest interview with Linday Lohan's cellmate and the latest report on how shampoo is hazardous to lemurs...

As far as Media....Well everyone knows Paige Kelton..  Tom Wills... Id contact all of the News Media... although when I tried to on #4, only one.... Channel 4 responded.. Not sure who in those media outlets, if any care about transportation or Preservation.
