I think it's going to be up to us to come up with a good name, metrojacksonville... I was on the Jags forum... The Vault seems to be popular but I think we can do better.... not me personally because I'm about as creative as a parakeet but somebody here will figure it out

I like "The Vault" for the wordplay allusion to Mike Peterson's famous quote...welcome to The Vault, prepare to be hit...
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!

Would be smart for the city to utilize their "cut" to reinvest in the team/stadium/infrastructure in some capacity as this is really just windfall.  Not sure what $5-6 Million gets you, but they can certainly punctuate the message.

copperfiend, I can virtually assure you Duvalt gets a lot of play, nice one!

Does the rule of 3 apply to good news?

1. Stadium naming rights deal::check::
2. Kennedy Pola getting lured away from the Titans::check::
3. 2010 season sold out on season ticket basis?
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

Oh, the whole #2 thing is just getting started, they filed a lawsuit against USC and Kiffin.

Back on topic.
Jacksonville: We're not vertically challenged, just horizontally gifted!

So, when is this supposed deal being signed? Anyone have a time frame for this afternoon?

In his column today Vic Ketchman said there's more exciting news to come.  Not as exciting as naming rights, but news that may put sales "over the top."

I hope this lawsuit backfires on the Titians in that it becomes a huge distraction all season long.  Eat it, Fisher!

I read it too and am curious to see what it is.

On a separate note, some ticket holders got a tour of the Jaguars facilities and there was a corporate sponsor on the practice jerseys. This has not been announced by the team but it is a company with a large local presence. It really sounds like the business community is stepping up to support the team like they did in the early years.

I'm curious as well. I don't think it's a free agent signing. I heard a rumor that concession prices were going to be lowered, beer specifically down to $6... but I don't think that's the big news.

1/2 packs have been around for years so that can't be it.

I really can't guess what would put ticket sales over the top.

Free Beer? ;D
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."
