That sucks! I was planning on going up there tonight!

So I guess for the time being, I can't call it the King Street District.

TheProfessor

Walkers has been open for a long time. I don't get it?

jacksonvilleconfidential

There's some sort of park and king meeting tomorrow afternoon and hopefully we'll get the scoop

I was going to go to Rogue after work but went to Dos Gatos instead.  I'm glad I made the right decision, lol.

Seriously though, hope this gets resolved shortly.   :)

Stop works are usually issued if the business opened before a COO was issued, or if there were outstanding issues that needed to be addressed during the final inspection to issue the COO and they werent done in a timely manner, or if they started doing more work than the permits originally called for.  It's not the end of the world, but certainly sucks from a cash flow perspective for the owner.  Hope they get the issues cleared up quick.  I like Walkers and The Loft!

Hope this is resolved in short order.. I love what they have done with these locations .. They look great !!!! :)

BridgeTroll

Wow!  I sure hope this is a misunderstanding or administrative issue that can be cleared up quickly... ???
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Well this sucks. A group of us checked out Rogue last Saturday and bounced around to the other bars in the area. It was a lot of fun, and with friends coming into town this weekend, we planned to do it again. I hope this is resolved quickly.

I guess this means someone sees Scott as a threat to their business.  I guess that's how we say congrats in this city, by slapping someone with a permitting violation.  How ridiculous.

I hope Scott's business operations are only minimally disrupted and he can be up and running again soon.

Shady dealings aside, let's please not forget what can happen when a nightspot isn't up to code. By their very nature, these businesses have crowds of drunk people who are probably unfamiliar with the exists, crammed into a building with all sorts of wiring and electronics. These businesses should NEVER be open until they are up to code. (Whether the city needs to get off its ass and issue permits in a timely manner is another story).

But anyway - no one needs another Rhode Island club fire.

Captain Zissou

There is little doubt where the exits are at Rogue. It's a narrow bar, the front is glass with a door that's always open. The back has a glass door as well.  At the loft you could just dive out the front that is made entirely of glass if you needed to.  Same goes for Walker's.

This is just bullying by another club owner, plain and simple.

Lunican

Since Walkers has been open for a year, what permits are not final?

RiversideJodi

I hope they get this cleared up soon.  Seems crazy that the issues with Walkers are just coming up now.  They've been open over a year or so.

The Compound

What happened to Walkers serving food. Werent they supposed to have food?
