Jacksonville was never called cowford back in the day.

The historical marker near the Courthouse (mentioned above) implies otherwise:

"This narrow part of the St. Johns River, near a clear freshwater spring was a crossing point for Indians and early travelers. The Indian name Wacca Pilatka, meaning "Cow's Crossing", was shortened by the English to Cow Ford, and Jacksonville was known by this name for many years. This crossing was used by the English when they made an old Timucuan Indian Trail into King's Road."

And this from Wikipedia:  "The settlement that became Jacksonville was founded in 1791 as Cowford, so named because of its location at a narrow point in the river where cattle once crossed."

I am sure all bar's in the Entertainment District will be reached out to. With Mark's, TSI, and Dive Bar being the staples of downtown nightlife it would be strange to not include them.

At the moment they aren't on the list, but this thing is just getting going so we're still open to suggestions. How late does Burrito Gallery stay open? Both would be good to add to the list since they are in the general area of Bay St. to the Landing. I'm a big fan of both.

Please check them out and try to get them included.  I love that spot and always try to finish my nights out there with a newcastle and cigar.  Adrian is the owner and should be there and Poppy will definitely be open tonight.  It's right behind of Dos Gatos on Adams so I hope they can be included.
