Mr Charles ......right lane was my first thought and my second! That lane leads to exit  ramp and would confine trucks out of the general way. Not too many places where a left hand getoff is the one.......so I would say right! Left Hand lane is the hammer lane and like most signage says- keep left unless to pass or slow traffic keep right! Simple road courtesy where I come from Mr Charles...........plus keeping an eye on the rear view and the side mirrors. I usually stay in the middle (If its three) or right if its two laned in one direction. Commons sense rules I would say..........but majority of road damage would be confined to one side. Unless you get behind a left lane loving yomoma.....speed limit plus 1/2........there should be a law against that!

QuoteWheelchair passengers is cumbersome on Amtrak, their own personal scooter is prohibited. Disinformation?

Ock, I agree,...........sounds like total disinformation to me.

Not tried to have my son travel Amtrak yet, but in Europe there is room for bicycles and scooters and wheelchairs.

It seems they are flat out lying,............besides these are not people who likely care about the disabled or any taxpayer subsidized mass transportation for anyone!!!

All they want to have tax-payer subsidized is private industry.
In a society governed passively by free markets and free elections, organized greed always defeats disorganized democracy.

Amtrak also offers a discount to disabled passengers.

QuoteAmtrak offers a rail fare discount to passengers with disabilities. To receive the discount you must book your reservation by telephone or at a ticket counter. Sorry, discounts are not available when you book online.

You must also provide written documentation of disability at the ticket counter and when boarding the train.

Older style cars may not have sufficient room, not sure about that though! Not making excuses for Amtrak or anyone else, anyone who pays for a ticket should be allowed access period, now withstanding any physical disability...........that should have no bearing! You pay ........you ride!

QuoteThe only time I've seen truck lane restrictions is when there are at least 3 lanes in the same direction - that gives trucks and cars a chance to maneuver around each other.  Not to say there aren't restrictions with only 2 lanes going the same way, just I've not seen them.

And Florida has similar restrictions, mostly in rural areas - I-95 has one starting somewhere in St. Johns County, that I think continues until the 3-lane portion stops around Palm Coast.

As I crawled behind a 3-axle or more truck parked in the left lane on I-95 North, in south Jax, I wondered why St. Johns restricts trucks, but Jax does not, and we have quite a few 3-lane or more roads. Most of I-95 in South Florida restricts Left Lane usage by a truck.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."
-Mayor Alvin Brown on new video boards at Everbank Field

Are the South Florida restrictions in urban areas, with frequent exits?  I've not been down there, so I don't know.

Ocklawaha

I don't think so Charles, I recall seeing many of the "END LANE RESTRICTION" signs in Boca - Miami - West Palm etc..

Having read and reread the article from Tallahassee's expert, maybe some pictures will help, it's obvious the highly placed official influencing our transportation decisions CAN'T READ!

9' by 6' and this nut can't get his chair inside? I really want him to show me how he does this on the Dog... (Greyhound). Please don't misunderstand, there is NOTHING wrong about the new Greyhound Coaches, in fact the newest are downright beautiful inside... But you ain't driving your power chair or the family BMW down those aisles.

Ock..........I am making an assumption, which I hate, but am guessing that the door entry is at least 36" in width? I think that is the door width suitable for wheelchair access in a house.
