Wow, the Jaguars have surprised me. I stand corrected!

Found this on a draft site for the 2010 NFL shoot 'em up, Jack Del Rio style:

QuoteMallett has tons of potential to be an effective pocket passer, but he has absolutely no mobility.

That sounds like another Left(Sand)wich to me. Or it could be another Peyton Manning, but the last QB we drafted around 6-6 came to the Jags as a WR and we all know what happened next, we're still waiting.

For the money, I like Pat Devlin....Pat Who? He is with Delaware and has a cannon for an arm, someone who can actually hit Torry Holt running down the field. He plays for a small school, and not widely known, would be a good candidate, but who am I kidding, everyone in the media says we will take Tebow, so what do I know?

It really wont matter who they get if the O-line continues to get beat on a regular basis. In DG defense it amazing he's started in every game this season. Peyton is not a mobile QB either, but when you have 20 sec to pass the ball you could do that in a body cast.

Thankfully there is only 1 Peyton Manning in the league, he is a machine, making reads in as little as 10 seconds. DG cannot and will not ever be PM. Fine, work with his strengths, short quick throws, outs, screens, maybe even run the ball a few yards, but get rid of it when the pocket collapses. Big difference in DG and PM is sacks.

The game has changed with PM and the Colts OC Tom Moore, he has been with the Colts now 12 years and won Super Bowls with multiple teams. He knows how to call plays to PM strengths. Dirk Koetter has done well everywhere he has gone, he has been with the Jags for 3 years now,in 2007 the Jags were 7th in Total Offense, last year slipped to 20th, this year 16th, so progress with new receivers. the D is what is killing us in 07 they were 12th, then in 08 were 17th, and now they are 22nd so far this year, all with a new D coordinator this year, Mel Tucker.

I just never get my hopes up for this team, because of back to back losing seasons with a former nfl player who should of stayed retired. Tampa Bay haven't had a great year this year, but look at who they just beat. True, Jacksonville came close to defeating Indy, but mistakes did 'em in.

Every squirrel eventually finds a nut. Tampa showed great character coming back from behind to win on the road. Something we all wanted to see out of the Jags Sunday, but didn't.

Saints also missed a FG. Most division games are close because teams no each other well. Bears have been bad all yr, but beat the Vikes. With the offense the Texans have, their QB is ranked third in passing I think. Yet the Jags swept them,,,sh_t happens.

ANY GIVEN SUNDAY, ANYONE CAN BE BEAT. They made a movie about it. Texans QB, Schaub is 6th in QB rating. Garrard is 18th, and Schaub was hurt most of the game in Jax. As a side note, Schaub had 300 yards in the first game At Houston. Then when he was hurt for most of the game, only had 207. Each game the Jags won by 1 score. Very close indeed. By the way, the Jags pass D is 27th out of 32 teams so far this season.

Interesting ATTENDANCE tidbit, the Jags are 31st out of 32 teams in attendance, the Lions are worse than the Jags in Total Attendance, both at home and away games combined. Yes, we are at about 49,651 in average attendance for the 8 home games this year, but at least we are not dead last.

Schaub was hurt, but not most of the game. Jags did build a lead while he was out. Texans mistakes cost them that game, also the Jags red zone offense or lack of kept the Texans in the game until the end.

Keith-N-Jax

Considering how Jax is the poster child to be picked on we really are dead last. Have you heard any stories about the Lions going to LA or London?

mtraininjax

When Schaub came back in after being hurt in the first series, he was down 17-0. He went out at the 10 min mark in 1st qtr, after 1st play of Houston series. He came back with 7 minutes to play in the 2nd, and led Houston to a TD. He is the 6th rated QB this year in the NFL. IF he had a D to go with the O, they might be in the playoffs. How the Jags are in the hunt with the 27th ranked D is beyond me.

None on detroit, but I hear more grumblings about Minnesota as well as Buffalo not being able to get along with the cities. Remember when the Colts left Baltimore in the DEAD of night? It was not because the fans were not there, it was because the City would not work with the Colts on what the team needed to be successful.

The number of fans at a game is a misleading indicator, remember there are 32 CEOs of the NFL and they run the show and determine what is in the best interest of the NFL and their franchise.

I would love to see Dungy here if he were to come back to coaching and the Jags were willing to pay what he would command.

I would be fine with Dungy but it won't happen. If Del Rio is fired (which I don't think he will be), Weaver would have to pay out the rest of Del Rio's contract. If they were to get a coach like Shanahan, Dungy or Cowher (which they won't) Weaver would be paying appx 10 million dollars to coaches next year. For a low revenue team, that won't happen. And it isn't just an issue here. ESPN has reported the Bears probably won't fire Lovie Smith because if they do, they would have to pay him over 10 million over the next two years.

Unfortunately the Jag players do just enough so Del Rio doesn't get fired. The players accomplish what they do despite the coaching. I am starting to get sick of Del Rio, but I am not holding breath on him being fired. The good thing is every year there is a big name coach available, so if JDR doesn't live up to this contract over the next couple of years I am sure WW will show him the door. Watch out for the Jags in 2010.... SEASON TICKET HOLDER FOR 6 YEARS..... BUY TICKETS PEOPLE CAUSE NEXT YEAR WILL BE FUN.... GO JAGS !!!!!!!!

Not winning............not filling! If you can not win, any team would be hard put to fill a stadium! Buffalo has taken to playing games in Montreal of all ungoshly places and its not helping! Jag's need to win to get people into the stands and if they are not winning...........duh!!
