Corner Brasserrie: Best Dining on the Southbank

Despite its location amidst the highly refined and often snobby San Marco Monsters of Fine Dining, there is no comparison to the quality of food at the small, almost unnoticed little restaurant on San Marco Blvd.

I've always wanted to give this quaint looking space a try. Nice review. Informative and amusing, all at the same time. I will definitely be giving them a try real soon. Thanks Stephen.

I'm a foodie, and love a good restaurant review. I've enjoyed the quiet and deliciousness of the Corner Brasserie myself.

That said, this is a disappointing spot to find such a story.

And I was more than irritated, and at times disgusted, by the poor writing -- "athwart" instead of "next to" or "across from" is completely ridiculous-- as well as the cutesy, sun-god-worshipping commentary about the Mayor, his civilized behavior (that should be expected of ANY casual acquaintance spotted in a restaurant), and his "exquisite, San Franciscan" wife. With all of this thrown in, and having eaten there before, I'll admit I couldn't make it through to the food review details.

This article has diminished my opinion of metrojacksonville.com for the day. Hope it can be repaired tomorrow with some good, logical coverage of downtown progress (or lack thereof).

On first reading, I thought "the tomato Napoleon" was a reference to the mayor.

In keeping with tradition, even the restaurant reviews are controversial for some reason.

Excellent review.

Will check out the place.

Thank you for writing something that was fun and interesting as well as informative.

OOOOOOHHHHHH! I thought this restaurant review was supposed to be a BREAK from the humor and irony of most downtown-area Jacksonville happenings!!!!

From now on, I'll have my coffee before reading metrojacksonville -- tone is tough to see when it's obliquely angled (or should I say "athwart"?)
