Isis, one of the Jacksonville Dixie Blues top players, signs a game football which its owner and some friends found after it went into the bushes after an extra point.  This young man won the ball from his friends with a game of "rock, paper, scissors."

Action shot from 0628 game against the Gulf Coast Riptide from Pensacola. The Dixie Blue won 37/14.  They play at Bolles High School and the next game is Saturday, July 11, at 7 pm.

Another action Shot.

The Dixie Blues Brothers.  They routinely entertain at the games.  They do an excellent job.  Come see them and the Dixie Blues.

I don’t usually watch sports but I’ve been to a couple of games played by the Jacksonville Dixie Blues, a Women’s Tackle Football team, and they were good.  You rhave to see them play to really appreciate what they can do.
They have an 8-0 record so far and they’re going to play against the Austin Outlaws this Saturday at 7 pm at Bolles High School, 7400 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville.  Austin has a 7-1 record.
Checking over records on the Women’s Football Alliance website, http://www.wfafootball.com/, I discovered the Dixie Blues have much better statistics.
Jacksonville scored 306 total points, 43.7 per game, while the Outlaws’ 167 points averaged 27.8 per game.  The Dixie Blues gained 1990 total yards or 331.3 per game which included 1229 rushing (204.8 per game) and 761 passing, 126.8 per game.  The Outlaws gained a total of 1832 yards (305.3 per game), consisting of 1704 (284 per game) rushing and 125 (21.3 per game) passing.
Kim Brown (#2), the Dixie Blues top rusher, had a total of 56 carries for 663 yards and scored 11 touchdowns.  The top passer, Brantley Mack (#33), completed 22 of 37 attempts for a total of 761 yards.  She scored 13 touchdowns.
The Dixie Blues had a total of 56 first downs which amounted to 9.3 per game while the Outlaws averaged 8 per game for a total of 48.  Dixie Blues defense allowed 92 total points to their opponents which amounted to 13.1 points per game.  Outlaws’ defense allowed 116 points to their opponents or 19.3 per game.
If you’d like more in the way of statistics, go to the website above.  If you want to watch a good game, go to Bolles High School Saturday.  You’ll also get a chance to see the Dixie Blues Brothers in action.
   See you there.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
