QuoteWell, it looks like we will have another 10 years of vacant land and no Skyway expansion for Riverside.

We don't need the skyway, we need the JTA to use the trolleys that were failed experiments for their downtown-San Marco route to test the waters between Riverside/Avondale/Ortega to Downtown. They have them, don't cost much to anything to run, and can prove if the skyway would succeed or not to Riverside.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."

Even without Brooklyn Park the Skyway Station as drawn would probably increase the over all ridership quite a bit. If I recall wasn't it the first one designed as a micro TOD? It was to have a couple of shops in it, plus be the feeder point for the bus system. Take it a bit farther south to Forrest or Blue Cross/Everbank/Fidelity and the whole system would start to change it's performance. Who wants to ride a PCT to downtown, southside or to their connecting bus at Rosa Parks if the Skyway can get you there without 44 stops? FLY SKYWAY!

Take those baby steps and I'll bet the farm that someone or something big ends up on the site of Brooklyn Park.

I will , for the first time in my life, agree with M-Train about something.. I CANNOT envision Walmart in Brooklyn.  Maybe a CVS or Walgreens, but not Walmart.  That said let me rant for a second.... I know I am preaching to the choir , for the most part...

WHY THE HELL DID SO MUCH MONEY GET SPENT TO DEMOLISH ALL THESE BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS , only for grass lots and slabs to replace them??? WTF were they thinking?
