QuoteRiversidegator and the Neocons fight Midway and Lunican. An innocent bystander, I get shot first.   Damn dirty Apes!

Excuse me, but wasn't the red-haired one our crime fighting mayor? After all he was ineffective in stopping the disaster...

Me?

Oh, I was hanging out on the statue of the big lady in the surf, Just BLOWN AWAY MAN!

Cury was an "friend" of mine as well. We meet regularly in the Supermarket to butt heads on that damn bridge to no-where. I never heard him refer to the OPS deal and the bridge in the same sentence, but he did talk about corrupt political land-owners making a killing on northside sand dunes. I was more then willing to overlook this typical Jacksonville fact in order to see the east belt completed. Cury couldn't understand the need beyond Hecksher Drive, and working at JIA and living on the Southside, nobody needed to tell me about our missing bridges. BTW, another fight was the JTB-103RD bridge, he won that one. I thought it was needed but wasn't sure that a University-Edgewood connection might have been a better choice at the time.

Keep in mind, this was just a scant 10 years after we chased away Walt Disney and told Busch Gardens to take a hike... I honestly think this was our last big hurrah before we realized we had made the wrong choice (going with traditional big factorys rather then people-data-tourism businesses). I really think our shamed City was trying to win by making us the next Detroit or Pittsburgh... They did it! Detroit-Pittsburgh and Jacksonville are still stuck on stupid.

Well if we ever decide to build a nuke power station for JEA in DUVAL, might I suggest we locate the St. Augustine or Charleston Earthquake faults both of which apparently end here!

PERFECT!

If skyscrapers can be built to withstand earthquakes I'm sure that power plants can as well.
