Wild that Bird used $500 million in VC to bring micromobility to 44 of the country's 50 most populous cities, deploying infrastructure and tens of thousands of scooters, and JTA needs $500 million to deploy a dozen clownbuses in a 3-mile radius of Downtown Jacksonville.

I agree they can be a nuisance, but Lime in particular has been successful in larger urban areas. Now theres a fairly robust privatized market for e-scooters. Some as cheap as $300. When these were introduced in 2018, the e-scooter market was niche at best.

E-Scooters are a viable personal transit option, and will be here to stay. E-Bikes too. It extends your non-car reach by quite a bit.

Jacksonville also happens to rank near the bottom for cycle paths & lanes... probably doesn't help the case locally. I'm sure it'd be better with more access...
