Caldera failed to obtain financing for the project. SOLD the real estate to JWB/Alex Sifakis.  Sifakis now owns almost the entire block. I believe he plans some multi family there, not sure what or when.  Perhaps he will chime in on this thread.

Good to see it is in good hands with a developer with deep pockets.  JWB/Alex Sifakis are doing a hell of a lot of the heavy lifting in terms of bring the Northbank back.

^ there are actually some pretty big changes - they now have addressed the corner of Liberty/Duval, have two new pedestrian entrances from the street, added more articulation to the sides and roofline including cornices, and added more brick + concrete at the base to match the YWCA building.

I don't love this new design, but I will certainly acknowledge: it's BETTER.

NW corner of that site is very close to where the "Old Burial Grounds" existed in early Jacksonville. Don't know how much digging will be necessary for the parking spaces planned for that section, but things could get interesting.
