Congrats on the big day guys!

Site looks red-hot.

Curious about a line from the announcement.

You mention that the new site is supported in part by the DIA.

The partnership makes a lot of sense, but editorially, there have been a lot of instances in the past where you guys have disagreed with the DIA on things like the Landing, District financing, etc.

You've certainly earned far beyond the benefit of the doubt over the years, and I'm confident I know the answer to the question already, but how will the partnership with the DIA affect your coverage as it relates to the DIA going forward?

Also, not sure if you guys are set up as an LLC or a nonprofit, but as an FYI, if you're a 501c, you're likely eligible for Google Ads Grants (up to $10k a month in free Adwords PPC ads). Would be pretty simple to set up a campaign, geofence your primary markets, target a bunch of keywords related to downtown Jacksonville, transportation, history, non-branded properties (Laura Street Trio, Shipyards, Lot J, whatever), etc., and rake in some relevant added eyeballs for the site at no added cost.

Thanks Ken. No worries, we control our editorial content. When the WJCT radio segment starts running, I do believe they will mention the DIA as a sponsor of the program.

Agree with KenFSU.  In this day of A.D.H. D.-like  internet surfing, you may only have seconds to grab readers' attention.  Having headlines generated by threads, etc. is a must to maintain eyeballs in my opinion.  Just check out almost every news website.  Heck, that's all Drudge, CNN  and Google News do on their lead pages and their web pages are among the top most-visited websites.  Nothing wrong with doing what is proven to work :).

Looking forward to the new era.  All the best.

I third this.

Is there easy way to see the latest posts on the new sight?

thelakelander

Yes, we're working on adding a latest post section for the forum to the front page of the new site.

Steve

There is a link on the Forum Main page to see the most recent posts. For now this is close.

I wouldn't bookmark it as the work that the folks are doing might render that link useless.

The latest forum posts show up on the front page now.

I agree-major help!

Agreed!! I've been away (kinda) for the past couple weeks so this was a shock to my system. But now order is more or less resolved. People don't like change...:)

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."
