The lot is triangle shaped. It's the space defined by Independent Drive, Hogan Street and the south side of the Parador/Suntrust garage. Half of it is currently a short dead end street.

OK; that pretty much answers the question. I am from Jacksonville, no longer live there, but always educate myself on new construction, especially downtown, and for the life of me, I still cannot envision WHERE this parcel/lot of land is. I know where northeast is on Hogan going north on Hogan from Independent drive; so I would guess that it is across from BOA on Bay Street? Yes, across from the landing, but on the north end of Hogan to the left of the Parador Parking Garage, and across from BOA. Thanks everyone for kind of clearing this up.

I believe its the triangle here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1pr-IMp05NJWFPWkARvNORbVY_Jr8ea0F&ll=30.325743175252136%2C-81.66053636837694&z=19

Sisters City Plaza is the cul-de-sac adjacent to the SunTrust Center/The Court Urban Food Park (food truck court).  It was used as metered parking until last summer when the City removed the meters and painted motorcycle parking spaces on site in anticipation of moving forward with a development agreement with MainStreet Capital.

To get an idea of how a hotel could fit on a site configuration like this, you should use Google Street View to look at the Courtyard by Marriott in downtown Atlanta.  That site is fairly similar to Sisters City.

BTW, the crooks from Parador Partners https://www.justice.gov/usao-mdfl/pr/jacksonville-businessman-pleads-guilty-fraud had a (now expired) development agreement to build a Marriott-themed hotel at the site. Those same convicted fraudsters pitched DIA on allowing a drive-thru Dunkin Donuts to be built at the site before their agreement was set to expire (the original development agreement only required a structure w/ a minimum height of two stories). Thankfully the SunTrust Tower's current owner, MainStreet Capital, will be building an actual hotel.... without defrauding the City nor hard-working private business owners in the process as their predecessors did.

NOW...THAT really answers the question if that's where its at. I never would have guessed, especially building a hotel on a triangle like that? Whew, eww. I guess it would have to go vertical for a few stories (15 would be nice, but I think that's too many cause then it would be a very slender, tall triangular building); but who knows, we shall see if it comes to fruition.
