Some programs will have special facility needs. The College of Business, Liberal Arts including Social Sciences, Education, and related fields can be done anywhere there are classrooms. I think all of those programs would do well downtown and on the current campus. I think health related upper division like nursing, public health, health administration and others make far more sense downtown with partnerships available with the Florida Department of Health downtown, UF Health and MD Anderson.

One way or another, this can get done and there are no excuses why it shouldn't. There are so many different models out there, UNF just needs to choose one with its new president, partner with FSCJ (whose new interim President is the Chair of the UNF Board of Trustees) and make it happen.

"Not knowing a darn thing about formal music education, could a partnership with the symphony and using Jacoby Hall be an avenue?"

IMO No.  Outside of Jacoby there are no spaces for classrooms or small rehearsal facilities, which are needed for the classes which support the performing ensembles.

Anyway, I spent several years at The U in Coral Gables which has a pretty outstanding School of Music but terrible facilities. UNF has is pretty good regarding fine arts facilities.
