In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Why is it interesting?

my post was a failed attempt at satire, it would seem.

This is how satire is done on MJ (feel free to take notes):

Topic: Hottest Spots in the SJTC?

QuoteWowwwww-eeeeee! Who would have thought such a spirited debate would have come out of my post!  :o :o :o

Tickled that others enjoy some of the same hot spots as me! Two of my honorable mentions were mentioned by other MJ'ers! Cantina Laredo and Moxie! Mmmm CL ;D I can almost taste the hot tortilla chips and hear the sizzle of the skillet! If you close your eyes you might just think you are in Tijuana!

As a treat I wanted to share a mini "urban construction update". The parking garage is almost up and boy oh boy is it tall! I got to speak to lead contractor Keith and I scribbled down some great scoops about how many cars it will hold and other odds and ends that I am working on a post about for my blog! Stay tuned!!!!

Well, duh. It's Glenn's world and we're just living in it.

I think NRW has pointed out the obvious, though - Metro Jacksonville is a poorer place in the absence of Glenn's SJTC posts.

Please come back, Glenn.

Well done.

I for one like megabox's threads.

But he needs his own dedicated thread to post all of the observations he makes.

a mega-thread if you will.

I like Mega's threads too, they prompt the type of discussion that I come to MJ for. If Mega's threads bother you, just remember what it was like for those weeks where the 10 most recent posts were by APL.

Adam's still getting over the loss of SD and is trying to find his new identity.  I for one trust that he'll be in a better place soon.

And to bastardize an oft used quote:  "Satire is kinda, maybe, somewhat a sincere form of flattery"

This made me really happy.

It would be cooler if Megabox put their observations into one thread. In general there are too many threads on MJ and it's impossible to keep track, or to avoid them getting bumped by random new stuff.

God, don't remind us...

So true. Glenn, we need you to tell us whether California Pizza Kitchen is authentic to the real California pizza experience!
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

I think I like the idea of the posts more than the actual posts. Or the spirit more than the content. If that makese sense. I do agree, however, that Walmarts tend to be close to highways.
