This will be yet again another budget burden for Jacksonville.  Why are we getting this?  The long term costing will be unaffordable and the taxpayers will yet again be screwed!

Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

I truly do not get the idea that anyone wants to visit an old-ass Navy ship and how people think that is somehow going to revitalize downtown.

That, and fuck the glorification of military power in all its forms.

Ahhhhhh....

Nice to read some positive comments to get the morning started off on the right foot.

Move over Tony Robbins,  there's a new sheriff in town.
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

All of that aside, there is no way that the maintenance of this ship is going to get even close to properly funded as time goes on.  The only ships that pull enough people either have really big guns on the deck, a flight deck, or go underwater.  No one really cares about a dime a dozen missile destroyer.
