Do you think railroad crossings should be replaced with grade separations?

I believe the medical center selected a site next to a railroad line that had been active since the late 19th century.  They even filled in marshland to make the site suitable for development.  Given the location of the Acosta Bridge, Main Street viaduct and I-95 (all elevated), you'd have to make a tunnel (or trench) out of the intersection of Prudential and San Marco Boulevard, to get under the tracks.  That will probably run you well over $100 million.

I am not a fan of elevating anything.  I looked at most of the pictures you linked to above and on the ones east of downtown a train would be moving so slow there is practically no danger at all.  On the ones off US17 - those are either forest service roads or firebreaks posing as a road.  They probably don't see 5 cars a months (unless people are going out there to drink).  If we are going to spend money on anything I would rather see a quite zone through Jacksonville.

These railroad crossings have no signals, just a crossbuck. No warning that a train is coming.
All, except your last one, are either tracks no longer in use or private roads.
