I thought the last Morton's location sucked too.  The place didn't have a single window, it just felt weird.

Mortons. Old school steak place,  riding on rep for several years. Met founders back in 1985, been to their house on the lakefront.

Run by the kids now. Junior wasted money opening Pink Taco chain. Lost a bundle trying to get the brand to take in China back in the 80's.

The Hyatt location will definitely be better than the old Morton's spot....once the new riverwalk is completed.  I recall Plaza III having a decent interior environment when it was open.  The dining area will have waterfront views (south and east), 1,000 hotel rooms/110,000SF of meeting space above it, outdoor dining and it will be in the heart of the Northbank.  We'll soon find out if we have a market strong enough to support multiple upscale steakhouses.

I stand corrected. The Morton Family sold the chain in 1987. It is now owned by Landry's, the hospitality, casino operator based in Houston.
