QuoteAnd at least the core still holds some kind of real value (walkable, condensed, history, etc). Serves these idiots right.

Do you realize how inane your comments are? Who gets stuck with empty buildings in a neighborhood? Ultimately the neighbors in the neighborhood. Who ends up finding a way to live in an empty building? People who do not belong there. Who ends up causing problems within empty buildings and what does this lead to? Fires, such as what we saw at the Jobs Corp building. Empty buildings in strip malls are not disgraces on the developers, they are passed down to the banks, to our communities and ultimately to ourselves. Yeah it does stink, but empty houses and space make our neighborhoods more susceptible to crime and lower values.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."
