Who enjoys the power and privilege of commanding broad public 'press' venues, how is that empowered and to what effect?

Mr. Khan,for example, can muster press/public rapt attention at a moment's notice and is obviously an effective presence in eventual outcome.
Mr. Sleiman once proposed an expansive Landing Marina that was not worth the artist rendition effort.
