Yesterday afternoon there was a meeting of the residents and condo association from the newly remodelled Ashley Towers.

They are trying to organize in order to clean up the remaining detractions to the place, primary of which is the retail in the building.

At issue is the clientele of the quickie food store, which sells cold single malt liquor at super discount prices.

As a result, the place is swarming with the expected connoissuers of cheap malt liquor, who are so adept at their passion that they are able to immediately able to recycle the beverage at body temperature all over the streets, leaving a distinct aroma of distressed liver for the residents to inhale as they enter their homes.

Somehow these people had never heard of Jerry Moran.

Now they have.

Where are the Ashley towers?  And if there's already retail in the building, albeit less than desireable, isn't that already a step in the right direction?  At least there's *something* there, right?

I think that retail store came in after the conversion had started.  City Place (formerly known as the Ashley Towers) is located just north of KBJ's offices on the corner of Julia and Ashley Streets.

they need to get organized and find some way to make those units bigger    they are like 450 SF average.

btw..."ashley tower" is now City Place Condos or something like that.  on Ashley St.

Probably so.  Is there a way to keep the store, but eliminate the 40s?

This retailer is simply doing what retailers do, provide what people want.  In due time the "40's" crowd will most likely get flushed out, once more people move in the area and are able to keep the retailer in business.

I dont know what my staff members would do during First Wednesday ArtWalks if the Quickie Food Store stopped selling those delicious single malt liquors at such wonderfully low prices.

I do force them to use the public bathrooms instead of the streets though (most of the time).
