Sounds very promising, but not exactly immediate. They seem to have a good mind for synergy and building for the long term.

Great news. I hope they include something along the lines of indoor laser tag, a bowling alley or skating rink/ice rink possibly along with restaurants and bars. I know there is currently a skating rink located near Emerson and Phillips highway but this location would do well and give patrons another option in the core. Either way, I love their thinking and plans for synergy.

Anyone know if this purchase includes the 2 story brick building on the corner of E. Adams st. and Lafayette currently showing as 'The Big Cat Den'? I hope so. If this all gets developed maybe we will see retail finally come to the city owned garages next door..though I doubt it.

^Yes, it's that entire block of old warehouse buildings. Anyone know how many people Doro employs? It would be good to keep a century old business like that operating in another place within the urban core.

This is great.  The combination of the complementing entertainment uses and the outdoor pedestrian space will make for a very unique and vibrant space near the sports complex.  This sounds like it can be the "front door to the stadium" that Shad Khan wants to see.  I hope they are able to work an agreement out with the garages for non-event days.  It would be a shame to add more parking when there are hundreds of spaces right next door that are often unused.

^Yeah, of all areas of downtown, this one is the least in need of additional parking, especially for individual developments like this.

I'm pretty excited for the potential in this area. With Khan's new amphitheater, intuition's new spot and now this, the area could really be a great entertainment district. I think a couple more restaurants and bars along with office to give some activity thoughtout the week could be perfect. It also establishes a market foundation for the eventual shipyards development to be more attractive to developers. Whenever the city cleans that place up. If the Elbow could also continue its growth, one day Jax could have one of the best continuous night life districts down Bay st.

Has anyone heard anything about this project?

Iconic was supposed to provide an update in May or June.

My office is across the street and there is increased activity at the Doro building. Contractors going in and out. Really looking forward to the energy this development will bring to the area. Iconic's building on the corner is really starting to shine too.

Announcement about intended use is expected within the next three to four weeks.

Seemingly being branded as The Doro District on social media. The developers are moving fast. Very uncharacteristic for Downtown Jax.

The magic of Shad Khan. Get the ball rolling, then watch the pieces fall into place.

Shad Khan doesn't have anything to do with what's happening with Doro.

I like The Doro District although it might cause confusion with the District being built across the river.

I'm hoping that the developers will leave at least one of the old Doro Fixtures signs on the buildings.
