Happy Grilled Cheese in Five Points Renderings

Established in 2012, The Happy Grilled Cheese is Jacksonville's original gourmet grilled cheese food truck. The Happy Grilled Cheese was the recipient of the People's Choice Award at the 3rd Annual Jax Truckies Food Truck Championship. Owner Anthony Hashem is finally in the home stretch to open a brick and mortar restaurant on Park Street in the heart of Riverside's Five Points district.  Check out the gorgeous renderings after the jump!

I think they should add some orange to the color scheme.. Maybe some yellow too.  Looks bland to me.

"Garish" would be a more suitable word than "bland."

Will it be necessary to wear sunglasses while inside?

That certainly looks "historic."

My first thoughts.

The colors actually don't bother me. It's certainly unique!

I'm thinking those must be the world's smallest tables if they're expecting to put 4 in front and still have enough room for people entering and exiting.

Colors and rendering are whatever to me - not what I would have picked, but unique is good. I also don't know the last time that I refused to go to a restaurant solely because of the decor (meaning the food was good).

Although, given how long it has taken to get to this point, my confidence is less than 100% that I'll ever eat a Grilled Cheese sandwich there.

I don't understand the fuss. It's a cheese-colored restaurant that sells grilled cheese sandwiches. Seems pretty on point to me. Five Points is kind of an oddball place so this makes total sense.

The restaurant is so bright, you gotta wear shades.

LOVE these renderings personally. It's a unique spot that will get a ton of attention to outsiders not from the area. Good luck to these guys!

to be honest, I freaking love the colors, lol.  And in the 1920s, Florida Kitsch had already become a design motif. ;)

But these people want their grilled cheese restaurants to be classy, not kitschy.

Is that so wrong?

I actually like it, too. My earlier post was taking exception to a misuse of "bland." You can call bright-yellow walls painted to resemble melting cheese a lot of things, but not bland!

I was just mentioning that it doesn't look historic.
I honestly don't care what it looks like at all and can't wait to pay 9$ for a grilled cheese.
