Why is the Main Street Bridge blue?

Why is the Main Street Bridge blue?

Because it ain't YELLOW!

No, all kidding aside, under Mayor Goldbold, the city painted the streets (REALLY) did art fests in the parks, mixed cultures, did shows, and painted AND lit each bridge in a unique pattern. Sadly the current gods of City Hall, have allowed it all to go to hell.

The Fuller Warren was Green
The Acosta was Orange
Main Street was Blue
The Hart was Green
The Matthews was Garnet

I wish they'd get creative and bring some of that back. It was a cheap way to have some civic pride. People even started giving directions by colors!

My best guess is the photographer wanted to bring back those memories of our bright bridge era.

Perhaps you also know what happened to the neon(I assume) lights that decorated the top panels on the bridge... they changed colors and patterns.  I think they were installed prior to the Super Bowl...  I loved those lights...
