There are some abandoned shrimp boats out there on the Trout River like the Jessica Lorraine. You can get a good view of them when taking the Jax Zoos airboat tour. When I first saw them I was surprised, as they are like virtual ghost ships out there.

Also, interesting to note, money is not the only way they can go after the owner (emphasis mine):

"Derelict vessel owners can face both civil and criminal penalties which may include jail."

Not in EC - Entitlement County

Anyone else feeling sorry for the Baltimore guys 2014-412? Losers! Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting 7 days out. Hope to get in a RICO loop. Will now have to include the Wreck of the Lady St. Johns in the tour.

I am Downtown and why you aren't.

Looks like this thread is going the way of the Lady St. Johns...

Nobody really believes in a true potential sinking event until it occurs, even in an internet thread.

Naw,not now    ;)

This morning I received a text from Noone; Tides Perfect (speaks H20 volumes) fish the Downtown "Wreck".Listen to Melissa Ross on the Kayak Radio.  Classic Noone.

Classic DUWA. Do What? Do the classic......Downtown Urban Waterway Adventure. New Chapter; 'The Wreck'

Some day, when we figure out rights and appropriate exposure for signature DUWA photos,we might even post some here.Video audio version will feature Melissa Ross program(s).

Called in on First Coast Connect. Launched at RCB- "Republican Corrine Brown" mitigation Kayak launch. Or how the locals call it "River Country Bubbas" kayak launch.

Took it over to the Northbank and fished under the NO FISHING signs that was never before Waterways. Caught a nice catfish using a Honey Bun for bait. Took it over to the Wreck of the Lady St. Johns. Got some great pics. Then did a Vivian Harrell KJB blue bag cleanup. Tossed in some Environmental Ethics -Vince Seibold on the JEA property. JEA- Building Community- Yeah right. Kayaked up to the ADA HANDICAPPED watercraft hand launch parking spot next to the DCPS building and the fence was down. Will Mayor Curry make it happen for the wheel chair gang? Will the CEO of the DIA Aundra Wallace and Guy Parola make this a priority at the 11/12/15 Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting?

Stay Positive.

And it just keeps on delivering!

Will this even be discussed at the 11/12/15 Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting? Next a Barge? Then a Navy Ship? The Lady St. Johns and it's status should be a concern.

Overstreet, did you or anyone with the Fla. Sea Kayak Assoc. get any pics of the wreck of the Lady St. Johns?

There was a lot of discussion on this today at the 12/9/15 Jacksonville Waterways Commission meeting after it was announced by councilwoman Lori Boyer at the 12/8/15 Jacksonville city council meeting that the Wreck of the Lady St. Johns would be gone by the end of December.

One potential delay is the boat that they were going to use to remove it is also sinking. Can't make this stuff up.

Councilperson Lori Boyer stated yesterday that she had assurances from the owner that the boat would be removed by year end.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."
-Mayor Alvin Brown on new video boards at Everbank Field

Just came from the Wreck of the Lady St. Johns. CBS 47 is there. Capt. Jim Suber Waterways Coordinator is there. Hope to have on a barge in the morning and then taken to Trout River. Everything donated. Public, Private, Partnership.

Thanks for the update Noone.
Anyone know what the deal is with the owner? Why is he/she not being held accountable?
