Honest question:  Does it really matter who's in charge of the Planning Dept. if CC is just going to put a moratorium on the ideas that come out of it anyhow?

At some point if City Council dumps every single thing that comes from Planning, then likely Curry steps in. It does him zero good to have one of his appointees hold zero power.

plus the main idiots in charge of the 'moratorium' are out of office now.

That's the hope.  But god forbid that we run the risk of upsetting a developer over some fees because, you know... jobs.

Maybe we should reset the clock  on how long it takes before the moratorium is lifted or what new variation they ask of it.

The economy is improving no matter what legislation we have in effect, there's no doubt about it, and people are going to build regardless of the fees associated as long as they show a opportunity for gain.  Will our city have the cajones to enforce a plan that benefits the majority instead of the few?  Clock's ticking....
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
