Normandy/Cassat/Lenox design charrette this week

As a part of the JTA Mobility Works initiative, you're invited to join a three-day, community-wide dialogue and feedback session related to Cassat Avenue between Beaver Street and Blanding Boulevard, Lenox Avenue between Cassat Avenue and Normandy Boulevard, and Normandy Boulevard between I-295 and Cassat Avenue.

While the official boundaries of the study are those mentioned above, anyone with safety/mobility issues on the westside is encouraged to attend.  For example, if you care about Edgewood Avenue through Murray Hill, this may be a good opportunity to have your voice heard.

Do these charettes address overall community aethetics, or just roadway safety?

Do they have jurisdiction to do something about over-sized business signage along many of Jax's commercial corridors?  I suppose people will argue that tall pole signs aren't necessarily aesthetically displeasing, but commercial thoroughfares along neighborhoods in Ponte Vedra, the Beaches, Bartram Park, are generally requiring smaller signs and mostly monument signs.  Can older Jax neighborhoods get the same love?

monument signs and signage on the building aren't advertising?
