We are partnering with Seventh Generation to obtain a Mamava Nursing Pod at Everbank Field and/or St. Johns Town Center to provide mothers with a private, comfortable, safe place to pump/nurse when visiting these locations.  Mamava delivers design solutions for nursing mamas on the go, making the world a friendlier place for women to pump or breastfeed.

You can help by voting on one of these locations at http://map.mamava.com/#/home and clicking on the location pin for either Everbank Field or St. Johns Town Center.

I have voted. But I find it sad that there aren't facilities at SJTC for parents. This pod sounds nice, but seems like it will be far too little. I know that some Westfield malls have family rooms where parents can relax with their children, change diapers and mothers can nurse.

Although my wife usually just nurses our son in public, there are times when he is so upset or whatever that a quiet place makes a lot of difference - for all of us, really. I think Simon should look into adding decent facilities for parents at the SJTC.

My wife has been breastfeeding for 5 years with pretty much no breaks.  We have never had trouble at Town Center.  There are plenty of public benches.  Why is there a need to shelter the breastfeeding mother?  We don't have much inclement weather, so this seems a bit unnecessary.  If it were raining or something, she would probably just sit in the car and do her business if she couldn't find a seat somewhere.  Everbank is a different animal because there is no public seating.  You're pretty much stuck with your seat that is crammed next to strangers.  I guess I could see the benefit there, but how often does a mother bring a breastfed baby to an event at Everbank?  Maybe it's more often than I think?

The heat maybe? I probably just need to HTFU.

...so this seems a bit unnecessary....

Some women like the privacy the Pod offers, some feel very self conscious, and others just like they have their own space.  Your wife is an exceptional person to be able to comfortably do it in public but my wife did not.

Thank you for your input but remember this would come at NO COST to anyone but Seventh Gen who is paying - so it can't hurt!

Sorry. I did not mean to offend anyone or degrade the idea.  I could have been more considerate and articulate.

Good luck!
