Bostwick Building to be Renamed the Cowford Chophouse

Transformation is one step closer to reality for one of Downtown Jacksonville’s most iconic buildings.  The Bostwick Building has been a signature part of Downtown for 110 years, but now sits vacant.

Agreed.  that same statement left my mouth when looking at the image before reading the article.

Yeah, I actually quite like the logo too.

It's quirky.

Looking at the render though, I really hope they do something a lot more striking with signage to make the building stand out:

Lit signage really makes buildings like this pop at night:

You could also do something on the corner of the building or street corner as well:

yes...it needs some iconic signage, something downtown Jacksonville severely lacks.

I think that is because of the sign ordinance that went into effect in the 80's, that prohibits the really cool signs you see in the old photos.

Yes, the downtown core, at least, should be exempted from the sign ordinance.

Noticed a Public Notice posted on the building when walking by this weekend.  Looked to be regarding the approval of the rooftop and exterior modifications, an HPC meeting probably.  Good to see things still moving forward.

Anyone catch the Cowford Chop House commercial during Monday Night Football last night? Well done.

Also, looks like he's investing in the neighboring properties too...

As field mentioned before, Forge 3D Printing is moving from their current space in this building, but staying Downtown.

Pretty certain Klempf also bought the remaining ground floor space at Churchwell Lofts, the vacant space next to Olio. Not sure what the plan is for that venue, but it is a very nice space.

IMO the logo blows.
