Jacksonville is getting a great reputation for its aviation support industry.

Today the first Sierra Nevada/Embraer Super Tucano rolled off the assembly line at Cecil Commerce Center.

We are also the site where Boeing has been contracted to convert F-16's to practice drones, the QF-16 for USAF.

Jacksonville is also where the Navy performs P-8 Poseidon certification and training along with depot maintenance of the F/A-18 at NAS Jacksonville.

Embraer builds the Super Tucano at (JAX) Jacksonville International not Cecil (VQQ).

Thanks for the correction. I thought they had leased a space at Cecil. My bad.

We have a lot of this type of expertise here, with all the ex- (and current) military folks. It's another great marketing tool for the region. Nice positive post, thanks for the info.

Not just the F/A-18.  P-3s, EA-6Bs, H-60s, T-44s, F-404/414 Engines, J52 Engines, TF-34 Engines, and many more components.

An often overlooked asset we have in Jacksonville is the large number of retired Chiefs here.  They have a technical education you can't get in civilian life and 20-30 years of supervisory and training experience.

actually most companies have coffee cup holders that wander around aimlessly with no real purpose.

Here you go Civil, another look at the TUCANO from south of the border in Colombia, though I believe this was shot north of the border in a joint Canadian-USA-Colombia exercise.

Looks like you sort of wear it as opposed to getting in it, something like the Brit's described their beloved Spitfire.
