From the Florida Retail Report...

QuoteTampa has the second fastest-growing downtown among large cities in Florida according to a new report.
The study called the Florida Retail Report released Monday found that Tampa's city center population grew at a rate of 14.5 percent between 2000 and 2012, the Orlando Sentinel said. Orlando has been actively trying to improve their Urban quality of life so this makes sense.

I just drove through DT Orlando a few nights ago and it is nice to see how lit up their DT is.  Ours looks like a black hole.

Does that shock you? It's been a black hole for the past 40 years and city leaders will do nothing to improve it.

why would they care to improve downtown..that means less money for developing the old skinner plot...our tax monies have been drained to develope other areas as white people see downtown as a place for blacks and other untouchables..who needs a building permit?  They give them away like candy in this city...build whatever you want where ever you want and theyll give you public tax money to build it...not until there is a massive dieoff of our conservative white boys running this city will downtown ever return...I just dont see ithappening with the way things are ran in this so called metropolitan city
