Jaxport loses market share in first quarter while Savannah, Charleston grow

Jacksonville's market share declined two-tenths of a percentage point, to 5 percent of the market. Its volume in the first quarter decreased 1.3 percent, to the equivalent of 214,495 20-foot-long containers.

Savannah, meanwhile, had the largest volume increase on the East Coast, growing 9 percent to 768,377 20-foot container equivalent units or TEUs. Its first quarter market share increased one percentage point to 17.8 percent. Charleston also grew in volume and market shares, increasing its volume by 5.1 percent to 409,826 TEUs and its market share to 9.5 percent, an increase of two-tenths of a percentage point.
