Toledo has lost 100,000 residents since 1970.  The first step to turning things around is having water that's safe to drink!

I had hoped this article was about learning from the recent problems Toledo has had with its water. Our river faces the same issues with algae blooms caused by the same contributing factors, fertilizer runoff from lawns and failing septic tanks. Having moved here from Cleveland I can tell you that the stigma of being the "mistake on the lake" still lingers, it's part of the public image and the way people perceive the city. Jacksonville needs to avoid the same thing happening here, and the only way to do that is to fix the problems now.
It's time to move past being a city with potential, and become a city living up to it's potential.
