Sorry for going off course yet again, but it's a trip driving West from Indiana into Chicago; One minute you're driving through a flat boring Indiana cornfield somewhere, then the next thing you know you're in Chicago noticing the CTA stations nearby the Loop, and of course the skyline. It's like from rural straight to the city, with no noticable suburbs in between. Quite a dramatic change of scenery. LOL

I guess true.  The waterfront cities have uber dense populations around their DTs, that's for sure.  High populations and limited land with water on one or more sides.
