Nice photos, shows not only the beauty of the neighborhood, but how there's still work to be done.

I've been wanting to buy in Springfield for a while now and was wondering what streets are good streets to buy on- safety is a factor, nearby park(s), back yard, stores/restaurants in walking distance, tree-lined street, etc. I don't have a lot of money for complete restorations. Any recommendations as to what streets are nice in Springfield?

As the "property manager" of the bicycle/record complex on Main St.----

- Inertia Records closed this last week. Burro Bags will be filling their space this month, using the space as a manufactureing/ warehouse/ retail outlet.

- Zombie Bikes is not officially open for bussiness yet, however feel free to pop your head in whenever and introduce yourself to Devin or Burt (managers). They hope to have stuff for sale mid-month- for now it has been a repair garage. They are working on all types of bicycles. mope heads, and also welding/making tall bikes and other cool variations.

- The Royal Treatment Shop is open for bussiness every afternoon except Monday. Mostly vinyl records, some T shirts and mostly Hip-Hop CDs. Also an office for DJ services for all occasions.

- This whole thing is a work in progress with no budget, so please continue to be patient!

- we desprately need cheap signage so everyone can find us. If anyone knows an affordable sign painter who will trade bar tabs/records/bikes or a little money for their services, please send them our way!

- none of this would be possible without our corporate liason, Tony Allegretti, and our benevolant landlord, SRG homes. So thank those guys when you see them for moving towards good use of vacant buildings in the neighborhood.

- again, this is a co-op with zero budget.... any help from anyone is always greatly appreciated! Get involved- this space is for every one in the urban core to use, and basically everyone who likes to see cool stuff happen! Thank you Phil Collins for donateing the pepsi cooler, thank you to the fellas that painted the inside, thank you top everyone who has bought a record or soda or anything! Dont complain about vacant buildings on Main St.- do something about it! Get involved!

K, I must have the absolute worse luck in the world.  I found the place this weekend.  Saturday morning to be exact, and guess what?  You were closed!  The sign said you didn't open until 2:00????  2:00, really????  Dude, that's LATE!  I was up at 7:00 and on my bike at 7:50.  I rode about 30 miles, hung out at the bike shop, walked over to Cool Moose for coffee, checked out some houses, ran a few errands, then headed over to Springfield around noon thinking I had given the place plenty of time to be open.  Wow.

JacksonvilleSeedExchange: i am a realtor and i work in Springfield.  There is so much development going on, there really aren't any streets better than others.  You should focus on finding a house that meets your needs, the rest is coming along. FYI: Closer to the park is more expensive, of course.
